Frequently Asked Questions

____________________

DO YOU PROVIDE A CONSULTATION SESSION?

Yes. I provide a free 20 minute phone consultation to help us connect briefly over your needs and how I can help. My goal is to prevent you from spending money on a full session that may not be a good fit for you. It may take "shopping around" a little bit until you find the therapist that is right for you.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES AND WHEN DO I PAY?

  • Free 20 minute initial phone consultation

  • 50 minute individual therapy session for $115

  • 50 minute Alcohol and Drug Evaluation for $150

  • 50 minute Anger Management Assessment for $150

  • 60 minute group therapy for $60

  • Marriage, couples, and family therapy prices depend on the number of individuals that attend each session. Typically, a flat fee of $175 will be charged for two individuals for a 60 minute session.

I accept clients who self-pay with cash, check, or credit/debit cards. Payment is received on the day of the scheduled appointment at the beginning of the session. I will provide you with an invoice showing the service has been paid in full. I do not accept partial payments at this time.

WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO COUNSELING?

I believe in respect, integrity, and providing quality services to all of my clients. Being consistently present, attentive, and open-minded each session is important to me as a therapist and a person in general. I believe in a high standard of care for all of my clients and prospective clients. I will meet you exactly where you are, mentally and emotionally, in any life situation. You will never be judged, shamed, or made to feel less than. See my "About Me" page for more specifics on my theoretical orientation and treatment modalities.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not accept insurance at this time, however I hope to in the near future. At the end of each session, I can give you the information you need to file an insurance claim in order to submit for reimbursement of our sessions.

WHAT IS A SLIDING SCALE AND DO YOU OFFER IT?

A sliding scale fee payment is based off of your income. It is not considered a discount or a sale on therapy services, but more of a reduced rate based on how much you earn each month. I do offer a select amount of sessions at a sliding scale fee. The amount you pay will be adjusted based on the United States Federal Poverty Guidelines and can also depend on where you live. I do require a proof of income and will be glad to go over this process more in depth during the initial intake session.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Life is unpredictable and changes can happen unexpectedly or at the last minute. I will be glad to cancel or change a session up to 24 hours before the scheduled session free of charge. If a session is canceled on the same day as the scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full rate of the session.

WHAT TYPE OF EVALUATIONS DO YOU OFFER?

I offer alcohol and drug evaluations by personal request or as required for pending legal issues. The evaluations will be completed by a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). If mandated based on pending legal issues, please check with your attorney to see if an evaluation completed by a LPC is sufficient. If you require an evaluation completed by a psychologist or psychiatrist, I will refer you to someone who can meet your needs.

I also provide anger management evaluations. Please click here for more information.
