My Background

____________________

I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Georgia College & State University and a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. I'm currently certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and am nationally certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).

Before making the jump to my own practice, I was a clinician at a non-profit substance abuse treatment center in Atlanta for four years. Prior to that, I was a mental health counselor at Anchor Hospital, treating clients at both an inpatient and outpatient level for two years.

My style and approach to therapy is integrative. I combine modalities and techniques that fit specifically with what you are looking for in the therapy process, as well as what will be most effective for you and your therapeutic goals. I strive to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental environment that invites the ability for personal growth and insight. I'm not perfect and I don't have all of the answers, however my goal as a counselor is to guide and assist you to a place of balance and total well-being. Change is possible and I'm here to help. I would be glad to provide you with a free consultation to chat, answer questions, and see if my counseling style is a good fit for you. I look forward to hearing from you and will always keep your best interest in mind.

Some issues that I have experience working with and can be addressed in therapy include, but are not limited to:

  • Addictive Behaviors (alcohol & drug abuse, sexual addiction)

  • Anger Management

  • Behavioral Issues

  • Chronic Relapse

  • Codependency

  • Divorce

  • Dual Diagnosis

  • Emotional Disturbance

  • Family Conflict

  • Grief

  • Life Transitions

  • Mental Health Issues (Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD)

  • Relationship Issues

  • Self Esteem

  • Sexual Abuse

  • Spirituality

  • Trauma
